1. The quarterbacks – I must admit, I wondered if 49ers’ QB Colin Kaeperick would falter in the NFC championship game playing in the domed stadium at Atlanta. The Falcons did an excellent job of taking away Kaepernick zipping off on spread option runs. They forced Kaepernick to beat them throwing from the pocket. He did just that. As for Ravens’ QB Joe Flacco, he just outplayed Tom Brady in a huge game. Enough said.

2. The kicking game – San Francisco kicker David Akers’ struggles, which included a missed field goal in the NFC title game, is an obvious concern for the 49ers.

3. Ray Rice vs. Frank Gore – Both these teams have premier running backs. Odds are extremely strong the one that gains the most yards between the two in the Super Bowl will be on the winning team.
