Former Cop Who Left Gun In Grade School Bathroom Won't Be Fired
LAPEER COUNTY (AP) - Officials say a security officer who left his gun unattended in a Lapeer County charter school's restroom, will not lose his job after all.
Chatfield school administrators reviewed the incident and have decided the unnamed officer is a good fit for the position.
But the K-8 school has revised its security procedures and added additional protocols.
Chatfield recently hired the retired Lapeer County Sheriff's Deputy, to help strengthen security.
