Power Outage Hits Parts Of U-M Campus, Ann Arbor

ANN ARBOR (WWJ/AP) - The lights are back on following a power outage that affected parts of the Ann Arbor area and the University of Michigan campus.

More than 2,200 homes and businesses, including several campus buildings were without power late Monday morning.

Police at the school said in an emergency alert that the outage included parts of the East Ann Arbor Medical Campus, North Campus, North Campus Research Complex area, Arbor Lakes, Botanical Gardens and Auxiliary Services.

AnnArbor.com reported scattered outages on Ann Arbor's north side and east of the city, affecting some traffic signals.

DTE spokesman Scott Simons said crews repaired a downed wire and had power restored shortly after noon.
