PONTIAC (WWJ) – Southeastern Michigan authorities say a 25-year-old man was speeding in a Jeep when he lost control and pulled into oncoming traffic, where a garbage truck struck and killed him.

The Oakland County sheriff’s department says the head-on crash happened about 2:40 p.m. Saturday in Pontiac. The name of the man, a resident of Maybee in Monroe County, was not immediately released.

The department says the garbage truck driver sustained non-life threatening injuries.
