6 Hurt When Car Rolls Through Stop Sign

DETROIT (WWJ) - Six people, including three children, were hurt in a crash late Sunday night in Detroit.

Investigators said one car ran through a stop sign near Gilchrist and Puritan on the city's northwest side. It crashed into a car carrying the kids and two adults.

Everyone in that car suffered minor injuries, but the driver of the car that triggered the crash was more seriously hurt.

WWJ Newsradio 950's Ron Dewey reported the crash was causing further concern, early Monday morning, as one of the vehicles had struck and was resting against a gas meter.

Authorities have since determined that the meter was not compromised as a result of the collision.

Police are now trying to determine whether drugs or alcohol were involved.

No names have been released.
