Incorrect Address On Detroit Tax Form Causes Confusion
DETROIT (WWJ) - Some City of Detroit residents who mailed in their income taxes got their envelopes back "return to sender."
On the City of Detroit Income Tax Individual Return Resident form, D-1040(R), there is an incorrect mailing address listed.
Officials at the city of Detroit's finance department say they're aware of the confusion and want to make it clear which address to use. For city residents who will be getting a refund, the correct address is: PO BOX 33402, Detroit, MI 48232.
The PO BOX numbers listed on Page 4 (seen at above left) are incorrect and should be ignored.

Income tax manager Tanya Stoudemire said it's a printing problem that arose when the city changed banks. They're continuing to investigate.
