Looking For Work? Head To The Michigan Collegiate Job Fair

YPSILANTI (WWJ) - If you're a college student or college graduate who needs a job, Friday just might be your lucky day.

The Michigan Collegiate Job Fair is being held March 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Burton Manor on Schoolcraft Rd. in Livonia.

While it will cost job candidates $15 to attend, several employers will be on hand, ready to hire.

"There has been a significant increase in employer participation for this latest event, which shows signs that the job market is turning around," Ebony Jones, senior corporate relations manager at Eastern Michigan University, said in a statement.

"Employers participating in this fair are looking to hire entry-level candidates with degrees in business, liberal arts, technology, engineering, human services and allied health," she continued.

Companies include IBM, Hewlett Packard, Quicken Loans, Computer & Engineering Services, Eby-Brown, AJM Packaging, Plastipak Packaging, Inc., Target, Valassis, and various State of Michigan departments and agencies.

Jones says this is an excellent opportunity for graduating college seniors and recent alumni in the state of Michigan to network with more than 100 employers from various industries with active job openings.

Jones recommends candidates should dress for success, bring approximately 25 copies of their resume and be prepared to discuss their skills.
