ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) - The Detroit Lions used their second pick of the final day of the NFL draft to select Appalachian State's Sam Martin.

The Lions took the 6-1, 205-pound punter Saturday with the 165th overall pick.

Martin could be the starter this season. Veteran Nick Harris did not return to the team during the offseason.
