Man Sought In Connection With Gas Station Clerk's Disappearance

NORTH SHORES (WWJ) - Police have  released a sketch of a man they believe may have information about a 25-year-old gas station clerk who went missing last week while working the night shift in West Michigan.

Norton Shores Police Chief Daniel Shaw it gets harder as time passes to solve the case involving the disappearance of Jessica Heeringa. But he said investigators continue to pursue leads and examine limited evidence.

Officials said Heeringa was preparing to close the Exxon service station Friday night when she disappeared. Her purse and other belongings were found.

The station didn't have a security camera and there were no signs of a struggle or robbery.

The case is being treated as an abduction.

Investigators are also searching for a silver minivan, possibly a Chrysler Town and Country, that was seen in the area of the Exxon station before Heeringa's disappearance.

Anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity near the Exxon Mobil gas station is asked to contact Silent Observer at 231-72-CRIME (231-722-7463) or call 911.
