Teen Golfer Hurt In Crash Released From Hospital

EXCELSIOR TWP. (AP) - One of five Grayling High School golfers has been released from a northern Michigan hospital after receiving treatment for injuries suffered when their van collided with another vehicle, killing a player and the coach.

A passenger in the other vehicle also died.

Munson Medical Center spokeswoman Meghan Daigh said Wednesday that Gunner Metzer no longer is in the Traverse City hospital. Team member Dallas Johnson was upgraded to fair condition.

Tyler Summers is in critical condition, Jacob Hinkle in serious and Mason Krey in fair condition.

Rhonda Mitchell was driving the other vehicle and remains in fair condition.

Killed Monday in Kalkaska County's Excelsior Township was 18-year-old golfer Louis Menard, 28-year-old coach Jason Potter, and 27-year-old Cassandra Stapleton, a passenger in Mitchell's van.

State police are investigating the crash.
