Dane Slater Elected As New Mayor Of Troy

DETROIT (WWJ) - The search for a new Mayor in Troy is over. It is Troy City Councilman and retired police captain Dane Slater.

He finished with over fifty percent of the vote, beating out a field of five others, including former State representative Marty Knollenberg.

This election was needed after controversial mayor Janice Daniels was recalled back in November.

In Wayne County, there was a lot of money on the line for Livonia schools, and the $195 million bond proposal  passed.

Elsewhere in metro Detroit...

OAKLAND: Proposals passed in Berkley, West Bloomfield and Madison Heights.

MACOMB: The Proposal in Centerline passed, the Richmond Schools Bond did not.
