Trip Down Memory Lane Before High Schools Merge In Bloomfield Hills

BLOOMFIELD HILLS (WWJ) - It was a day to celebrate Lahser and Andover High Schools in Bloomfield Hills , which will merge to become Bloomfield Hills High School in the fall.  Hundreds took a last look at each school before the merger.

A 1973 Lahser grad, Monica Moesta-Dehghan, enjoyed seeing her old school.

"It's fun walking the halls. It's my first time back in almost 40 years," said Moesta-Dehghan.

Cara Penoza, of Troy, graduated from Lahser in 1993.

"It's sad not to have an alma mater but ... the city's got to do what the city has to do to save funds and consolate," Penoza said.

High school merge (bFisher)Mike Rutt, a 1972 Lahser graduate, enjoyed seeing some old friends.

"Oh, it's probably been almost 40 years since the last time I was here and you know, there was a lot of times I wasn't here when I was supposed to be," he laughed.

Students will attend the Lahser building until the Andover campus is remodeled to accomodate all of the students in 2015.

Students who attend the merged school will be known as the Blackhawks.
