AUBURN HILLS — Auburn Hills Thursday announced that Ralco Industries Inc. has submitted plans to construct a new 125,000-square-foot world headquarters and manufacturing facility on 18.8 acres located along the north side of Taylor Road near Fieldstone Golf Club.

Ralco is currently located at 2720 Auburn Court in Auburn Hills.

Said Steven Cohen, director of community development for the city of Auburn Hills: “Ralco could have built this new facility anywhere in the Midwest, but they want to be here. That’s great news not only for the city of Auburn Hills but also the state of Michigan.”

Farmington Hills-based JB Donaldson Co. is the developer for Ralco Industries’ new building construction. Approximately 14,000 square feet of the building will be used for office space while the remaining 111,000 square feet will be used for the plant facility. The total investment is estimated at $13.5 million.

Said Piper: “Michigan is home for both Ralco CEO Tom Gitter and me, and we look forward to continuing our long-standing relationship with the communities in which we live and work. We are grateful for all of the efforts provided by Auburn Hills, Oakland County and the state of Michigan to make this dream a reality. This business expansion demonstrates our commitment to innovation, technology and, most importantly, our employees and community.”

The Auburn Hills Planning Commission is scheduled to hold a public hearing to review Ralco Industries’ plans on Tuesday, May 28, with a final decision to be made by the City Council on Monday, June 3.  To learn more about Ralco Industries expansion in Auburn Hills and other economic developments in the city, visit the Auburn Hills Economic Development blog.
