SHELBY TOWNSHIP — CPR Cell Phone Repair in Shelby Township needs a new television commercial; but rather than take the same old path as everyone else and engage the services of a professional production team, local franchise owner Liz Hohauser decided she wanted something different – something fun, fresh, and from the perspective of today’s youth who live their lives on their cell phones.

So she came up with the idea of opening up her store for local aspiring filmmakers to use to launch their portfolio of filmmaking projects.

“Teens and twentysomethings basically live their lives on cell phones and using technology, so our team came up with the idea of letting them tell the story about our electronics repair business — because who better to understand the importance of the services we offer,” Hohauser said. “Since we know Michigan’s film industry program has sparked the creative juices of many aspiring filmmakers, we thought they might be interested in working with us as an early portfolio project to showcase their talents.”

The firm is now taking applications for teams who are interested in submitting videos to be considered for selection as the winning entry. The grand prize winner will receive four tickets to Cedar Point – and the opportunity to see their production on television when the firm places its next television media campaign.

Members of the winning team will also be announced in the firm’s blog and social media and in a news release, and will have their photos posted in the Shelby Township store.

Submitted videos can be live action, illustrated or stop-movement animation, and should be 60 seconds in length. All videos submitted become the property of CPR Cell Phone Repair of Shelby Township; however, the company will allow the use of the videos by the teams for use in their creative portfolios. CPR reserves the right to edit as may be necessary and will make the store facility available for in-store filming as may be needed with prior arrangement.

Contest rules and submission information, as well as contact information, is available at http://blog.cpr-shelbytownship.com. Learn more about the firm and its services at http://cpr-stores.com/shelby-township.
