Danialle Karmanos Changes Plans For Pete's Parties

By The Associated Press

DETROIT (WWJ) -- The wife of a Compuware Corp. co-founder upset that events to honor her husband's legacy and the software development company's history were canceled has changed plans to host a gala on her own.

The events were a June party outside Compuware's downtown Detroit headquarters and formal gala, but the company canceled the plans.

Danialle Karmanos had said she planned to use her own money to put on the gala. On Monday, however, she told The Detroit News and the Detroit Free Press the party would be replaced by a more inclusive event in late July or August.

Compuware has said it didn't feel the canceled events were an appropriate use of company funds.

Peter Karmanos Jr. co-founded Compuware in 1973 and served as its CEO until 2011. Earlier this year, he stepped down as chairman of its board.
