ANN ARBOR — The fifth annual TechTwilight, a fundraising event to benefit the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum raised more than $30,000.
The event supports upgrades to the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum’s technology exhibits.
TechTwilight connects entrepreneurs, innovations and their families for an inspiring evening of activities, demonstrations and hands-on invention.
“TechTwilight provides the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum the opportunity to extend our core mission to further engage young minds in science, technology, engineering, art and math,” said Mel Drumm, the museum’s executive director. “The time, talents and enthusiasm of our regional technology community make TechTwilight an amazing event that inspires visitors to consider careers in a STEaM field. The TechTwilight exhibitors and supporters show that choosing to invent and innovate for a living can be as fun as it is rewarding. TechTwilight is a true multi-generational event, where we see kids of all ages enjoying science together, and sharing and explaining ideas.”
This year’s TechTwilight event attracted 530 visitors. The evening’s main attraction — interactive exhibits by innovative Michigan businesses, community organizations and schools — offered attendees more than 30 different opportunities to explore technologies and innovations that are incubating right here in the region.
Exhibitors included TechTwilight “We are the Champions Award” winner Dexter High School Dreadbots for demonstrating a pyramid-climbing, frisbee-throwing robot, “The Vincent Van Google Award” winner Google Ann Arbor for their exhibit featuring 260 art museums, and lead event sponsor NuStep, which offered a fitness boot camp on its exercise equipment.
The Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum provides more than 250 interactive exhibits that spark the imagination. The Museum is a regional destination attracting over 260,000 visitors every year. The mission of the Museum is to inspire people to discover the wonder of science, math and technology.
