Tigers shortstop Jhonny Peralta was ejected Thursday against the Pirates for arguing balls and strikes, MLive.com reports.

Peralta had words with the home-plate umpire after taking a called strike three and was later ejected when taking his position on defense. Ramon Santiago took Peralta’s spot at shortstop.

Peralta finished the game 0 for 2 and is hitting .333.
