PayAnywhere, Camp Masters Popcorn Partner For Boy Scout Fundraising Drives

TROY -- PayAnywhere, the mobile device payments technology provider, Tuesday announced a partnership with Camp Masters Popcorn, the popcorn sold by thousands of Boy Scout and Cub Scout troops across the country.

By adding mobile credit card processing to their sales arsenal, Boy Scout councils and units selling Camp Masters popcorn will be able to boost sales and capture transactions from customers who may not have cash readily available.

Ramsey Popcorn of Ramsey, Ind. is the company behind the Camp Masters program, the brand sold by Boy Scout councils as part of their annual fundraising efforts. Ramsey Popcorn is a preferred vendor for the Boy Scouts of America, serving more than 40 councils across the country with 70 percent of each sale going directly to support local Scouting.

Ramsey has partnered with PayAnywhere to make mobile credit card processing a key component in the sales process, integrating it throughout the entire program for Scouts selling in front of stores as well as Scouts selling door to door in neighborhoods.

"My son sold more than $10,000 of Camp Masters gourmet popcorn when he was a Scout and I know he could have raised more money for his troop if he were able to accept credit cards," said Gene Schenberg, vice president of sales at PayAnywhere. "I've seen first-hand the immediate positive impact that PayAnywhere can have on an organization's ability to fundraise. By putting the easy-to-use PayAnywhere app and reader in the hands of organizations who are selling Camp Masters Popcorn we know they can improve their sales volumes by as much as 50 percent."

The PayAnywhere mobile credit card reader is a small accessory that plugs into the audio jack of smartphones and tablets, transforming them into mobile payment terminals that can swipe credit cards to securely process payments. Used with the free PayAnywhere mobile app, the reader instantly transforms an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, most Android smartphones or tablets, or BlackBerry smartphones into mobile point of sale terminals.

Created by North American Bancard, which has provided credit card processing and merchant services for more than 20 years, PayAnywhere is used today by merchants ranging from billion dollar enterprises to the weekend neighborhood garage sale. PayAnywhere offers next day funding with the lowest transaction fees in the industry --  2.69 percent per swiped transaction for all Visa, MasterCard, Discover Card, and American Express -- and its pay-as-you-go pricing plan requires no setup or cancellation fees, no monthly fees and no minimum processing amount.
