Tigers Recall Rondon From Triple-A

DETROIT (CBS Detroit) Bruce Rondon is back in the show -- with the Detroit Tigers recalling him from Triple-A play in Toledo and sending Evan Reed down to the minors.

CBS Detroit's Ashley Dunkak reported last week Rondon was "moving forward" after an underwhelming major league debut in April.

"His stuff's obviously no question," Toledo pitching coach A.J. Sager said last week. "He's getting better at throwing strikes with different pitches. He's getting better at holding runners, fielding his position, some of the things that go with the stuff. Basically the easiest way to say it I guess is just that he's kind of refining the whole part of pitching and not just stuff."

Rumors ran high that Rondon would be back in the bullpen when the Tigers moved Jose Valverde to Triple A for "fixing" after a series of poor performances.
