Utility's Online Annual Report Receives National Recognition for Creativity
HOLLAND -- The Holland Board of Public Works' online, interactive annual report received a Silver Addy Award at the American Advertising Federation's 2013 National Addy Award Ceremony held recently in Phoenix.
The 2012 annual report had previously won Gold at the Addy District competition and
Best In Show at the West Michigan Addy Awards in Grand Rapids.
"Our annual report plays an important role in engaging our community in the work
carried out by the utility they own," said David Koster, Holland BPW general manager.
"We've come to rely on interactive story telling as a very effective way of helping
people understand the many ways the BPW serves the community."
The 2012 Annual Report takes a graphically engaging and interactive look at each of
the HBPW's utility services. Included are animated videos to review the Power for the
21st Century new power generation process, a water usage calculator quiz and others.
The National Addy Awards are a highly competitive recognition of the nation's top
creative work. An independent panel of judges evaluates tens of thousands of entries
each year, and typically 100 or fewer are selected for national awards. The HBPW
2012 Annual Report, created by Boileau Communications Management, earned the
judges' votes as the best overall creative work in the West Michigan community.
