WSU Police Investigate Ride-By Sex Assault

DETROIT (WWJ) - Wayne State University Police are investigating an alleged sexual assault that happened on campus.

A woman told campus police she was walking on Cass Ave. north of I-94 when a man approached on a bike.

As the man passed, he reached out and grabbed the woman's breast. The man said nothing and just continued to ride away, west on Amsterdam from Cass.

It happened Wednesday at 7:45 am.

Police said the woman, a WSU staff member, was not injured.

The suspect is described as a dark-complected black male, 17 to 27 years old, with a medium build. He was clean-shaven with a "sculpted face," and braided hair worn down to his neck. He was wearing dark framed glasses, a navy blue long-sleeve shirt and dark pants; and was riding a standard sized bike with a dark-colored frame.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Wayne State University Police Department at 313-577-6064. Anyone who sees something seems strange, unusual or suspicious, on campus at any time is urged to call WSU Police immediately at 313-577-2222.
