Tips Sought To Identify Locker Room Larcenist
NORTHVILLE TWP. (WWJ) - Metro Detoiters who play golf or work out in the Northville Township area are urged to lock up their valuables — because a thief is on the loose.
Police say, a man dressed in golf attire has spent the summer helping himself to credit cards and cash in locker rooms at area golf courses and athletic clubs.
WWJ Newsradio 950's Beth Fisher spoke with Northville Township Police Lt. Michael Wildt, who says amiddle-aged man has been stealing a few hundred dollars at a time since June — and it's added up to thousands of dollars over the summer.
"We don't know who the person is," said Wildt. "We have several video shots of the person using the [stolen] cards at Meijer stores, Kroger stores and some of the Mobile gas stations."
The suspect wears a white golf cap with a "Pine Lake Country Club" logo on the front. He's been spotted dressed in various golf-style shirts and pants.
He may be driving a silver Ford Focus, silver Ford Taurus, or a white Jeep Liberty.
Anyone who recognizes this man who has information about these crimes is asked to call Northville Township police. Tipsters who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
