Michigan Running Back Out With Torn ACL
ANN ARBOR (97.1 The Ticket) - University of Michigan football's Drake Johnson is out with a torn ACL.
The team announced Monday that the sophomore/freshman running back will miss the remainder of the 2013 season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament suffered in last Saturday's game against Central Michigan.
"You just hate it for Drake, but he's as tough as anyone on this football team, and he will make it back from this," said head football coach Brady Hoke, in a media release.
"He worked so hard through his redshirt season and had a really good camp in backing up Fitz (Toussaint), not to mention he was a really valuable special teams player for us," Hoke said.
In his first career game action against Central Michigan, Johnson (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer) had two carries for nine yards and one tackle on special teams.
