Governor’s ‘NERD Fund’ Paying For Emergency Manager’s Condo In Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) – It’s called the “NERD Fund” and the spokesman for Detroit Emergency Manager Kevyn Orr confirms that the foundation of Governor Rick Snyder is paying for Orr’s condominium.

Orr has been staying at a condo at the Westin Book Cadillac while working through the city’s financial problems and bankruptcy filing.

While NERD fund donors are anonymous, this type of private compensation is allowed under Orr’s contract with the city.

Snyder’s New Energy to Reinvent and Diversity, or NERD Fund is set up as a nonprofit civic fund.
