Ann Arbor Spark Offers 'Starting Your Own Business'
Friday, Oct. 18: Ann Arbor Spark will offer its monthly "Starting Your Own Business" event from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 18 at Spark East, 215 W. Michigan Ave. in Ypsilanti. The cost is $25. At this forum you will learn about personality traits that impact entrepreneurialism, creating a marketing plan for your business, legal, accounting, and risk considerations, product development, business plans and financing options. You will have an opportunity to get advice from a variety of business experts and organizations that are available to support new ventures. More at this link. 

Ann Arbor Spark Offers HR Training Event
Tuesday, Oct. 29: Ann Arbor Spark will offer "Leading HR When it's not your Day Job" Oct. 29 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Spark Central, 330 E. Liberty St., Ann Arbor. The cost is $15. Are you responsible for HR in your organization? What if HR is not your subject matter expertise? What if you were a recruiter and are now responsible for all of HR, or a generalist who needs to strengthen your staffing skills? What if you are not available for a HR course at WCC or a master's at EMU? Each session will include tactics, skills to learn, legal considerations, and resources for next steps. More at this link.

Tuesday, Oct. 29: Ann Arbor Spark will offer its monthly "Hot Shots: Career Connections" event from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 29 at Conor O'Neill's, 318 S. Main St. in Ann Arbor. Free event. Bring your resume, and come and mingle with growing, innovative companies in a fun and relaxed environment! Companies attending include Custom Business Solutions Inc., Poly Informatics, Stout Systems, Technical Engineering Consultants Inc. and more.
