Pop-Up Beer Garden Welcomes Detroit Tigers Fans During ALCS

DETROIT (WWJ) - The Detroit Tigers begin a three-game home stand on Tuesday as they try to defeat the Boston Red Sox in the American League Championship Series.

Just in time for the festivities, a new pop-up beer garden is opening for all three games. Woodward Hall makes its debut Tuesday during Game 3 of the ALCS.

"It's kind of got that rustic look. It's kind of the cool thing these days to keep it as is, but we're going to bring in some long tables, some TVs, we're going to have music playing, great beer from Atwater Brewery, it's just going to be a great, fun atmosphere," Todd McIntosh, with Bedrock Real Estate Group, told WWJ's Vickie Thomas.

With big screens and $5 beer on tap, organizers are hoping the hangout scores a home run with fans.

"With our Tigers coming home, we really wanted to see people come out and have a great time. And, it's going to be a great event for the YMCA as well, all proceeds will be donated to the YMCA," McIntosh said.

The beer garden will open at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, and at 5 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday. The beer garden is located at 1520 Woodward Avenue, just south of the ballpark.
