DETROIT (WWJ) – A bomb squad has given the all clear after a “suspicious backpack” was found at the entrance of the People Mover.

Detroit police confirmed that an unattended item was found Monday morning in the 1200 block of East Park street near Grand River, between Washington and Bagley.

Police closed off the area briefly to investigate and the bomb squad found nothing dangerous in the backpack.

The call came in to police as a “suspicious package.”  It’s unclear who left the bag in the street or why.

No one was hurt.
