Hockey Referee Gets Knocked Out Breaking Up A Fight

The sport I didn't really try playing while growing up was hockey. The reason mostly being it was on ice and is very expensive. Now don't get me wrong, a kid growing up in the 90s I definitely did play some street hockey on inline skates. Another reason I didn't really mess with hockey is because of the fights. With tiny hands like mine I would have never been able to fight and that's a huge part of the game, so me and my hands were eliminated from playing competitive hockey.
Bitter BCHL rivals, the Vernon Vipers and Prince George had a fight for the ages over the weekend. A fight broke out along the boards and as they normally do, a ref got in the middle of the fight to try and break it up. Normally as a ref is trying to break up the fight, players are still trying to throw punches. In this case one of those punches connected with the ref and the ref went down. I guess after watching this and looking down at my tiny hands as they type, picking the computer over sports was a wise choice!
