Stranger Danger Alert In Livonia

LIVONIA (WWJ) - School officials in Livonia sent out a stranger danger alert after an unknown man approached two girls as they walked home from school.

According to Livonia police, the pair of 14-year-old students were walking on Floral, near Curtis in the area north of 6 Mile and west of Inkster, at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday when a man pulled up in a Dodge Caliber.

He asked the teens how old they were, several times. When they didn't answer, he drove away.

The girls described the stranger as a white male in his late 20s with brown hair.

The Livonia School District notified parents and reminded them to talk with their children about safety precautions that should be taken while walking to and from school.

Those precautions include walking in groups; not engaging in conversation with strangers; running if they are feeling threatened or afraid; and immediately notifying the police or an adult of any incident.
