Flint Councilman Arrested For DUI And Possession Over Weekend

FLINT (AP) – A Flint city councilman is spending his holiday weekend in the city jail.

Fifty-five-year-old Eric Mays was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and possession of marijuana.

Mays was arrested about 2:50 Saturday morning on Interstate 475 by police investigating a traffic accident. Mays was changing a flat when officers arrived.

Mays served a year of probation after pleading guilty in 1987 to felonious assault, after threatening a man with a gun. Mays said the man threatened his life.
