2 Police Officers Rushed To Hospital After Crash

DETROIT (WWJ) –  An accident involving two patrol cars leaves at least two officers injured.

The accident happened around 8:45 a.m. Tuesday on Woodward Avenue and Manchester Street, just north the Davison Freeway in Highland Park.

Officials say the accident involved one marked police cruiser and one unmarked cruiser, both from the Highland Park Police Department. It appears one officer was trying to make a traffic stop and was hit by another police cruiser.

At least two officers were rushed to the hospital, although their current conditions are unknown. It wasn’t immediately clear if anyone else suffered injuries in the crash.

An investigation is ongoing.
