WATERFORD (WWJ) – A 52-year-old Pontiac man is expected to be charged with murder in a New Year’s night killing.

The victim was taken to an area hospital, where he died a short time later.

The alleged stabber fled the scene, but, after a brief search, police found him in the area of Telegraph and Dixie Highway.

He was arrested and remained jailed on Thursday, awaiting formal charges. Waterford police said the case would be submitted to the Oakland County Prosecutors Office on Friday.

This incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Waterford Police Detective Mike Morgan at 248-618-6664. Or to stay anonymous, contact the Tip Line at 248-674-COPS.
