A Doctor's How-To Manual To Help Outsmart Heart Disease

DETROIT (WWJ) - A Metro Detroit expert is sharing what he's learned from decades of treating heart disease to help people prevent and even reverse it.

As a practicing cardiologist, Dr. Joel Kahn said he would love to put himself out of business, "But we've got a long way to go with the number one killer around the world."

That's why he written "The Holistic Heart Book", which he says is an accessible, how-to manual to help you outsmart heart disease.

Kahn told WWJ Health Reporter Sean Lee that many Americans don't realize more than 75 percent of cardiovascular disease is preventable.

"You have so much power in your hands to help your own health," Kahn said.

"Health doesn't occur in a doctor's office in a 15 minute visit," he said. "Health is gonna occur when you're at the grocery store, or when you're with your friends and make some decisions in a restaurants, or whether you put your gym shoes on or roll over in bed — that's health."

The Holistic Heart Book is available now through publisher Reader's Digest's website HERE, or on Dr. Kahn's website, HERE.
