NOVI (WWJ) – Novi police are reaching out to the public for help to catch a bold bank robber caught on camera.

According to police, a male suspect entered the Charter One Bank branch, located at 41400 Ten Mile Road, at the corner of 10 Mile and Meadowbrook Roads, shortly before noon on Wednesday and handed a note to the teller demanding money.

The man implied he had a weapon, and no one saw a gun. He fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a short, black male, about 5 feet, three inches tall and 130 to 160 pounds.  He was wearing a black “The North Face” jacket, black hooded sweatshirt, light-colored baseball hat, black mask and sunglasses.The suspect’s age, hair color and eye color are all unknown as his face and head were covered.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect in photos released by police or who has any  information about this incident is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Scott Baetens at 248-348-7100. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous cancall Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK UP.
