Police Release Sketch Of Suspects In Drug Store Security Guard Murder

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police have released sketches of the men they believe are responsible for the murder of a CVS pharmacy security guard.

Twenty-four-year old Courtney Meeks was shot in the neck running to the aid of a woman who was carjacked in the store parking lot.

The first suspect is described as about 17-18 years-old, about five feet, five inches tall, with a small frame, looks younger than his years, with medium brown complexion, clean-shaven. He was wearing a grey hoodie coat ( a quilted fabric) dark-colored shoes. A witness say this young man "acted like the leader" and was armed with a handgun.

The second suspect is described as 18-years-old, five feet - seven inches, with a small childlike frame, medium brown complexion, clean-shaven, wearing a leather two-tone colored coat (the top was a burnt orange, the bottom was khaki sandy brown color with a black design separating the two colors). He was wearing a charcoal grey hoodie underneath, dark-colored shoes and was armed with a handgun.

The third suspect is described as 18-years-old, five feet - six inches with a small, childlike frame. He has a medium brown complexion (slightly darker skinned than the previous two suspects) clean-shaven, wearing a tan hoodie coat and dark-colored shoes, armed with a silver handgun.

Investigators say the suspects may live in the area of the store near Schaefer and McNichols.

Police Chief James Craig says Meeks, who wanted to be a police officer, is a hero.
