Cory Emmerton Recalled To Detroit

DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings today recalled center Cory Emmerton from the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins.

Emmerton, 25, has appeared in 43 games with the Griffins this season, ranking fourth on the club with 35 points (14-21-35). The St. Thomas, Ontario, native has also skated in 11 games with Detroit, recording two points (0-2-2). He has played in 132 NHL games since 2010-11, totaling 21 points (12-9-21) and 22 penalty minutes. In 18 NHL playoff games, Emmerton has recorded two points (1-1-2). In 260 career AHL games, the 6-foot, 195-lb., center has registered 146 points (48-98-146) and 80 penalty minutes.

The Red Wings (29-22-13) are in action this week when they visit the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. (FOX Sports Detroit Plus/AM 1270) before hosting the Edmonton Oilers on Friday at 7:30 p.m. (FOX Sports Detroit/97.1 The Ticket)
