TC Golf Simulator Developer Adds Computer Game To Lineup

TRAVERSE CITY (WWJ) -- The Traverse City-based developer of a $400 indoor golf simulator has released a free golf game based on the simulator's technology.

OptiShot Golf LLC says the game, OptiShot Gimme, is free for a limited time.

Said OptiShot CEO and co-founder Russell Edens: "We didn't want to just tell people how great the technology and software of OptiShot Golf Simulator is -- we wanted to show them. What better way to do that than an exciting free golf game showcasing the OptiShot Golf
Simulator?"

The software experts and designers who created and developed the phenomenal OptiShot Golf Simulator also designed OptiShot Gimme. It features the award-winning OptiShot Golf Simulator software and technology, high-definition graphics and exact replications of legendary golf courses. Operating on the identical platform as the world's No. 1 golf simulator, the company says the new game behaves and responds like true golf.

OptiShot Gimme download is available at http://www.optishotgolf.com or in partnership with retailers and golf associations.

Edens grew up in East Lansing and spent childhood summers in northern Michigan. After earning a computer science degree from Western Michigan University, he took a software job in Seattle. He moved to the Traverse City area in 2004, and with a friend from Seattle introduced the OptiShot simulator in 2005.

The system has won rave reviews from golf experts. Combining infrared sensors and an electronic tee pad, the system lets golfers use their own clubs to play virtual versions of legendary courses on their computer, while getting expert coaching on improving their swing. The device requires only enough open space in which to swing a club, and an 8 1/2-foot ceiling.

OptiShot has twice been named to the Inc. 500 list of America's fastest growing entrepreneurial companies, and has won the ScoreGolf Research & Development Award, the "Michigan 50 Companies to Watch" award and the "Flyover 50 Award" as one of the Midwest's fastest-growing companies.

Industry authorities including CNBC, Golf Magazine, Golfweek, Sports Illustrated, USA Today, the Golf Channel and many others have heralded OptiShot worldwide. See www.optishotgolf.com/testimonials.html.
