The Twittersphere exploded Monday when "How I Met Your Mother" celebrated its swan song, forever ending the antics of Barney, Ted, Marshall, Robin and Lily.
The mother is dead? Yes, sadly that appears to be the case. So is "the naked man," for that matter. And it left fans reeling.
Reviews were mixed.
But while many were upset at what they thought was a not-so-happy ending -- they were certainly eating it up.
Numbers released by CBS Tuesday morning showed that every CBS-owned station in the country ranked No. 1 for the night in adults 25-54 years old.
"How I Met Your Mother" topped NBC's "The Voice," winning 6.3 percent of the 25-54 year-old demographic, compared to "The Voice's" 4.1 percent of the same audience. Comparatively, ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" had a 3.4 percent share of that key demographic.
Overall, the "How I Met Your Mother" finale reached 4.7 million viewers.
