KP Boxing Brings Championship Boxing To Cobo Center In Downtown Detroit In May 2014

Cobo Center, Detroit, MI. Friday May 30th, 2014 – Detroit's own KP Boxing has partnered with the recently revitalized Cobo Center to present "Showdown for Motown 4," a WBC-USNBC sanctioned fight for the Middleweight Title.

Father and son promotion team George and John Kaltsas, founders of KP Boxing, have brought boxing back into the spotlight in Detroit by setting up what might be the most anticipated bout of the decade, further supported by an additional 10 bout undercard.

The title fight for the Middleweight Championship Belt (WBC American) will be between future Hall of Fame candidate and former World Champion Bronco McKart and Emmanuel Steward Protégé, Tony Harrison. McKart (56-10 with 34 KO's) hails from Monroe, MI. Harrison (17-0 with 14 KO's) is Detroit born and raised. Harrison is coming off his epic win against former World Champion Grady Brewer in February's Showdown for Motown 3 at the Masonic Temple.

Nationally known matchmaker Carlos Llinas was quoted as saying, "I told George he'd never make this fight. With all my experience and connections, I still can't believe he did it." He went on to say, "The undercard of young talents is surely the best in the nation."

Thom Connors, Regional Vice President and General Manager of SMG/Cobo Center said, "We are excited to work on this new venture with KP Boxing to bring championship boxing to the Cobo Center."

A press conference will be held on Tuesday, May 6th at 2pm at the Cobo Center, 1 Washington Blvd, Detroit, MI.
