DETROIT (WWJ/AP) – Authorities are trying to identify a man found fatally shot and burned on Detroit’s west side.

The man’s body was found around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday on Linwood, between the Lodge Freeway service drive and Fenkell Street.

Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office spokeswoman Mary Mazur said an autopsy Thursday found that the man died of a gunshot wound to the head, the Detroit Free Press reported.

Mazur says the death was ruled a homicide, but the man’s identity has not yet been determined.

Anyone who might have information about the case is urged to contact police at 313-596-2260 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
