DETROIT (WWJ) – Police say a woman found stabbed to death on Detroit’s west side was a suburban mother of four children.

The body of 39-year-old Desanee Young, of Sterling Heights, was discovered Monday morning in her SUV, which was parked in front of an abandoned house in the 8200 block of Piedmont, near Tireman Avenue and Evergreen Road.

Police say Young was a stay-at-home mother of four children. Friends told reporters that Young was “afraid of Detroit,” so they had no idea what she would have been doing there.

Young’s husband was reportedly questioned Monday evening, although he has not been identified as a person of interest.

Police said they are continuing to investigate the case, but have not yet made any arrests.

Anyone with information on the case is urged to contact police at 313-596-2260 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
