Dave Coulier Visits WWJ Promoting Charity Performance

SOUTHFIELD (CBS DETROIT) - Dave Coulier visited the WWJ Newsradio 950 studio to promote his appearance Thursday, June 4, 2014 in Sterling Heights at The Guild gala fundraiser. Proceeds from the event will benefit St. John Hospital and Medical Center with funding going to their Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Coulier also talked on-air with afternoon host Jackie Paige about the event and what he's been up to recently. Coulier is doing voice-over work and is currently the voice of Raisin Bran.

The actor is best known for his role as Joey Gladstone on the 80s-90s sitcom "Full House".

"We are very proud to be presenting this annual event," said John Adamo, Guild president. "We are hoping to provide a significant gift to the Mary Ann Van Elslander Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Special Care Nursery and with the support of this very generous community we are confident we can do that."

The money will help fund an expanded, modern facility with the latest technology will enhance privacy, patient safety and the overall patient/family-centered experience. Renovating and expanding the NICU will double the existing square footage and create 32 private rooms. The new accommodations will include private nurseries for each baby, with reduced light and sound disturbances, and overnight accommodations for family members. This enhanced environment will be conducive to healing and growing, which can reduce the infant's length of time in the hospital.
