BLOOMFIELD TWP. (WWJ) – Police say a 56-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash along a popular Oakland County road.

The accident happened Tuesday evening on Telegraph Road near Long Lake Road in Bloomfield Township.

Police told WWJ’s Laura Bonnell that the man was driving his motorcycle when he slammed into a cement truck. Other circumstances, including what caused the motorcyclist to lose control, are unknown at this time, police said.

Police did not specify whether or not the man was wearing a helmet. His identity was not released.

Authorities are awaiting autopsy results to determine a cause of death.

Police are looking to speak with anyone who might have witnessed the crash. Anyone with information is urged to contact police at 248-433-7755.
