Gunman Shot Dead After Police Investigate Domestic Dispute

STERLING HEIGHTS (WWJ) -- Sterling Heights Police received an emergency call from a juvenile who said there was an assault involving their mother and father around 6:50 a.m. Saturday morning.

Police said that they announced their presence before entering the home at Lola Drive near 16 1/2 Mile and Dodge Park Road.

When police entered the house, a man armed with a gun approached them. One officer fired his weapon, striking the 54-year-old man. He was pronounced dead at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital.

Michigan State Police are investigating the shooting further.
