Back To School Deals
By Lynsey Mukomel
August is just around the corner. Which means the craziness of packing school lunches, double checking the math homework, and giving your kids the “try again” face when they come downstairs will soon be back in full swing.
Back to school also means back to the store to buy this year’s school supplies – most of which will end up rolling around your car floor at some point or another.
To help you manage the long checklist for your youngsters, here are some stores already promoting deals and discounts:
It’s no surprise Target sales have suffered since the hacking debacle that left more than 100 million customers with compromised credit cards. In an attempt to help get itself back on track the retail giant teamed up with the Kids in Need Foundation and plans to donate $25 million in supplies from now until August 2. The ‘Buy One Give One’ campaign will match all purchases of up&up school supplies for children and students in need.
Additionally Target is marketing price cuts on most of their inventory and free shipping on orders over $50 – if you want to take the online shopping route. They’re also promoting the 10 percent off coupon code: DECOR10 for dorm items purchased online.
The famous Rollback prices are being applied to everything students need to gear up for school – including kids uniforms that start at $5. They also have a wide selection of items for dorms and college apartments at discounted prices.
If you choose WalMart be sure to take advantage of the value bundles, which will let you buy in bulk and save even more money – especially if your kids are still in the glue-sticks-and-crayons grades.
With up to 30 percent off clothes and buy-one-get-one promotions, Kmart is focusing more on the style kids want when they head back to school. Backpacks are up to 15 percent off, and they’re also offering an additional 10 percent off layaway clothing and accessories.
They’ve unveiled a coupon that gives shoppers 25 percent off of their entire school-supply purchase if they also buy a backpack. A simple way to save some green!
As the school year gets closer more stores will be rolling out the red carpet for customers needing supplies. If you find another store that’s offering some killer deals, please share in the comments below. Happy shopping!
