Giveaways at the ballpark created my favorite days at baseball games when I was little, and it’s still the same — Whether it’s the mini bat or the magnet calendar, I like them all.

The Oakland A’s had a great T-shirt giveaway planned for Saturday, Aug. 2, to hand out 10,000 “La Potencia” T-shirts in honor of their slugger Yoenis Cespedes.

The only problem with this is that Cespedes has now been traded to the Boston Red Sox. And 10,000 T-shirts is a whole lot of inventory. Will they bury them in the desert? Set them on fire? Hold the world’s largest car wash?

Oops. It looks like there will be a bunch of little kids wearing 2014 Denver Broncos Super Bowl tees — and now they will have Cespedes A’s shirts…
