David Price had been a big-time baseball star since his times with Vanderbilt. The Tampa Bay Rays drafted Price first overall in the 2007 draft over the likes of Mike Moustakas, Matt Wieters and Rick Porcello.

Price first came up with the Rays in 2008 and ever since has been in their starting rotation.

Now, he’s in Detroit, and on his way out Price took out an ad in the Tampa Bay Times to thank the fans.

It’s a far cry from the last thing we saw out of the Florida media about Price, when the FOX affiliate there Tweeted something nasty about the local scene and thousands of people reacted. Classy.
