17-Year-Old In Critical Condition After Gunshot Wound To The Head

LANSING (WWJ) - Police say a teenager is clinging to life after sustaining a gunshot wound to the head.

The shooting happened early Saturday morning inside a townhouse in the 5800 block of S. Martin Luther King Boulevard, north of I-96 in Lansing.

Police spokesman Robert Merritt said the 17-year-old boy was inside the home with four other people when someone fired a single shot into the residence from outside.

The teen, whose name was not released, was rushed the hospital and is currently in critical condition. No one else was injured.

Police believe the shooting was not a random act, according to reports.

The gunman is described as a black male, about 5'10" tall, with a thin build. He was wearing a black t-shirt and light-blue jeans, and had a black shirt covering his face. He is to be considered armed and dangerous.
