ROYAL OAK (WWJ) — Authorities have confirmed that bank robbery took place at the Fifth Third bank in Royal Oak on Saturday afternoon.

Police said a man went into the bank on Woodward between 12 and 13 Mile Rd., demanding money and indicated that he had a gun. The man got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police describe the suspect as a medium-dark skinned black male, between 6-foot-2 and 6-foot-4, 30 to 40 years old, with a goatee and was wearing gardening gloves.

There were no reported injuries during the incident.

The Royal Oak Police Department in conjunction with the FBI is investigating this incident.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Royal Oak Police Department Criminal Investigations Division at 248-246-3528 or FBI Detroit Field Office at 313-965-2323.

Several people pulled up to use the bank, only to find that it was closed.
