Ex-Michigan WR York Faces Sept. 22 Assault Hearing

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — Former Michigan wide receiver Csont'e York is due back in court Sept. 22 for a pretrial hearing on assault charges.

The 20-year-old appeared Monday for a hearing in District Court in Ann Arbor, but it was delayed at the request of his lawyer Orlando Simon.

York has been charged with one count of aggravated assault and two counts of assault or assault and battery. The misdemeanors are related to a July 18 incident outside an Ann Arbor bar. Police say York punched a man in the face, breaking the man's jaw.

York appeared in one game as a reserve wide receiver as a freshman last season. York was dismissed from the team last month.
